Dungeons and Dragons at the Barnes Children's Literature Festival!

 On Sunday, 23 June our student Dungeons and Dragons club were asked to deliver a programme at the 10th Anniversary of the Barnes Children's Literature Festival in London. 

We were ecstatic to learn that our event had completely sold out very soon after being posted, with over 65 people in attendance. 

We had six stations set up for the public to use, each station was run by one of our students and myself. 

3 stations were called "Let's Fight!" where attendees could take a pre-made D&D character and jump straight into a deadly fight with a giant frog creature called a Froghemoth.

1 station was set up for anyone who wanted to learn how to create a character.

1 station was set up for map drawing.

1 station was set up for younger attendees who wanted to do D&D colouring, mazes, drawing and several other activities.

It was a very memorable event, to see so many people come together, many of whom had no idea how to play D&D, and spend an entire hour laughing uncontrollably, rolling dice and having a huge amount of fun was really overwhelming. 

The feedback I received from parents and children who attended has been absolutely amazing, they heaped tons of praise on the students who were fantastic in their approach with both parents and their children. 

It was a huge honour to be at the Festival with the students, I know the attendees loved the experience, as did I.
