A Skype visit with Jasmine Warga!
Year 7 students had a great Skype visit with author Jasmine Warga from her home near Chicago, USA this week!
Jasmine's new novel, Other Words for Home is written in verse and tells the story of a young girl who travels to the USA from Syria with her mother, leaving her father and brother behind.
It's a wonderful story and covers important issues about immigration and stereotypes in a way that is accessible for Year 7s.
The students really loved talking to Jasmine, great time for everyone!
