The launch of Booklings Chat, the podcast!
I'm very excited to announce the launch of our new podcast straight from the Glenthorne Library: Booklings Chat!
This has been a project myself, my colleague Ms. Saillard, Mr. Blair in the Music Dept & the students have been working on for a few months now.
In April of 2018 we won a £500 grant from Reading Hack (sadly no longer in existence) to start the podcast. The grant was awarded to us because the students in our book club, known as the Booklings, asked to start their own podcast where they interview different authors when they visit the school.
We were very lucky to have won the grant which meant we could interview authors using equipment that was of a high standard that we could normally afford.
Everything in the podcast is student-led. They recorded the intro son using a ukulele, keyboard and flute, they recorded the intro & outro and they come up with the questions to ask the authors.
It's been a real pleasure to work with them and to see this project come to life.
Our first guest was the amazing Chris Riddell, UK Children's Laureate and award winning novelist and illustrator.
Chris sat down with two of our students who were on the ground floor when the podcast started.
We will try to post a new interview every week. We hope you enjoy our first interview!
