An Author Visit from Jess Butterworth!
Today our Year 7s had a fantastic visit from author Jess Butterworth.
Jess' books Running on the Roof of the World and When the Mountains Roared are very popular action adventure stories with lots of heart and important messages.
Jess described her life in India and many other places around the world. Jess' writing has been influenced by traveling and meeting many different people and of course animals.
She recounted one particularly horrifying moment when she was bitten by a very venomous snake and had to be rushed to two different hospitals in order for them to find the antidote.
After her talk she came to the Library and signed books for a very large queue of happy students.
An author visit wouldn't be complete with signing the David Bowie Read poster which Jess was more than happy to do.
Overall it was a really great morning for everyone, we are looking forward to seeing Jess' third book!
