February was one of the busiest month's we've had in a while, here's a rundown of what we did in the Library:
Our Year 7 students participated in World Read Aloud Day by reading to Kindergarten students in South Carolina.
Our Book Club, the Booklings, met to discuss BookTrust's School Library Pack.
I organised a coffee morning for staff to celebrate the books nominated for The Bookling - our Book Award!
We brought in a registered therapy dog for students to read to as part of Wellbeing Week.
Storyteller and performer Alec Williams met with all of our Year 7 students for a fantastic workshop in the Library.
Authors Holly Bourne and Sara Barnard met with all of our Year 10 students as part of their "Friends Do Tell" tour!
Our Year 8 students Skyped with Mary Watson, author of The Wren Hunt.
Our Year 7 students Skyped with Erin Latimer, author of The Strange and Deadly Portraits of Bryony Gray.
We made Galaxy Jars in the Library as part of our World Book Day celebrations!
Over 30 students chatted via Twitter to authors Jess Butterworth, Jenny McLachlan and Anne Cassidy as part of our #BooklingsChat series.
Our Year 9 students Skyped with author Lauren James.
We made comic book wallets in Manga Club.
Author Sarah Govett visited with all of our Year 7 students to discuss her book, The Territory.
662 books were borrowed in Februrary which is great considering we had a week off for half term and missed one and a half days due to the weather.
