A Skype Visit with Susan Wilson!
Our Year 8 students had a great Skype visit with Susan Wilson, author of the great new Dystopian thriller The Extinction Trials.
The Extinction Trials combines fast paced action, great characters and of course ravenous dinosaurs!
It has really been a very popular book at Glenthorne High School so it was a great opportunity to talk to Susan from her home in Scotland.
Susan discussed her inspiration for the novel (trying to get her two teenage sons to read) and the challenges that come with writing 1,000 words a day while balancing a full time job and a family.
She also talked about her favourite books, tv shows and how to create memorable characters in works of fiction.
It was a really great time for the students. We are hoping Susan will visit us in person the next time she's in London!
