A Skype visit with Mary Watson

Today our Year 8 students had a great Skype visit with author Mary Watson. Mary's new novel The Wren Hunt was published on 8 Feb and is a dark fantasy adventure set in Ireland.

We had over 100 students in the Library listening to Mary's story as she described growing up in Apartheid South Africa before moving to Ireland where she devoted more time to writing fantasy novels.

The students had several questions about writing, her inspirations and Mary then turned the tables on them, asking them several questions about their favourite books.


It was a really great time and I know The Wren Hunt is going to be a huge hit in the Library!
