A Visit From Author Eve Ainsworth!
As part of our Anti-Bullying Week events, Year 8 students had a fantastic visit from author Eve Ainsworth.
Eve's books, "7 Days" and "Crush" both deal with bullying and toxic relationships. Eve recounted how she herself was bullied in school and worked with troubled youth later in her life. These experiences gave her the inspiration to become a writer.
We had some great questions from the students about bullying, her writing inspirations and also her 3rd novel which is due out in March!
We also had time before the official visit to play 5 Second Rule with Eve, myself and some Student Library Assistants.
5 Second Rule is a game where you're asked to name 3 things but only have 5 seconds to do so. Sounds easy, but it's not when you're under pressure!
I'd like to say I won, but Eve beat us easily in the end. Lots of fun combined with a really powerful and informative visit from Eve!
