An Author Visit from Marcus Alexander

This week we had an amazing visit from author and explorer Marcus Alexander. Marcus spoke to the entire Year 7 group, delivering an energetic, funny and inspiring speech that got both students and staff involved!

 

 

 

He then moved on to the Library where he signed books and posed for pictures. We've never had this much enthusiasm for an author!

 

 

 

 

After that, he met with 30 Year 7 students for a creative writing workshop in the Library. Marcus used the characters from his Keeper of the Realms series to inspire the students to write stories of their own.

 

 

 

As a grand finale, Marcus took the class outside in the courtyard and did a series of backflips, much to the students delight, and the students watching from the windows in their classes!

 

 

 

It was by far one of the best author visits I've ever experienced, I'm confident that it has inspired the students to not only embrace reading but to employ a positive outlook on life in general!
