A Skype Visit with author H.L. Dennis!
Today we have a fantastic visit from Helen Dennis, author of the Secret Breakers series and her new series River of Ink.
Helen spoke in detail about the inspiration for Secret Breakers, primarily the mysterious Voynich Manuscript, a real-life secret codex written in an unknown language. This code has remained unbroken for hundreds of years.
Helen also spoke about another group of code breakers, the group at Bletchley Park. She told us about how code breakers were chosen, which was very entertaining.
We then asked her questions about her writing life, her inspirations and her favourite historical mysteries of all time.
It was a fun, entertaining and very educational Skype visit that was enjoyed by all 60-plus Year 8 students in attendance and staff as well!
