Brownies & Books!
On Thursday this week we held a Brownies & Books event. This was hosted by our Library Book Club, also known as The Booklings. The Booklings are students in Years 7 - 10 that meet every Thursday for a book club and other fun activities.
The concept was simple, we put out displays containing great new books in the library. We opened up spaces for 40 students to come to the Library at lunch, borrow one of these books and get a brownie.
The Booklings walked around the Library. not unlike staff at Waterstones, asking if anyone needed help, recommending their favourite books, manning the door so we only had registered students attend and making sure the displays stayed filled and tidy.
I made the display signs using Canva & Pixabay, two great resources for finding copyright-free images that you can alter to your own liking.
It was a great event, in the end we handed out 68 brownies, I gave extra to The Booklings for their hard work. Lots of fun and tons of books being put in the hands of the students!
