Stan Lee Excelsior Winners!
It's been long overdue but I finally got around to getting prizes for the top two readers in the Stan Lee Excelsior Award.
Every year a set of 8 graphic novels are nominated for the award, we as Librarians purchase these as have as many students read them as possible. Every time they finish one, they fill out a review form, which we send off to the Librarian in charge of the Award.
The Award is based solely on student-written reviews, and the ceremony often includes the artists and writers of the graphic novel, and even Stan Lee himself one year!
One lucky winner from Glenthorne received a new X-Men graphic novel for reading all 8 books and reviewing them. In total, we sent several dozen reviews off to the award this year and I look forward to next year's event!
