Student Book Review: Gypsy Boy on the Run

 

 

Gypsy Boy on the Run is a good book, it's about Mikey, a little boy that has a dad that is known for boxing. His dad trains his sons to fight and they all do well apart from Mikey who doesn't want to fight.

Mikey is gay and he falls in love with another boy called Caleb. Caleb is nineteen and Mikey is thirteen and in the end Mikey writes a note saying he has run away and that he went with his girlfriend but he really hasn’t, he has ran away with Caleb.

 

Mikey’s dad sets off trying to get his son back but he doesn't know where he is. Caleb keeps getting beaten up by other people that  Mikey’s dad has paid. Each night Mikey has been hidden in the boot of a car by Caleb. And now he has got a job and living in a B&B waiting for his dad to call.
