Bowling for Books!
This year the Library Induction included a scavenger hunt that pitted Year 7 & Year 8's against each other.
To help students find their way around the Library, the names of books and their authors were taped to bowling pins. Each student in the class had to find the book associated with their pin, if they found the book within their allocated time limit, they "won" the pin and plus 1 point.
At the end, the pins that had been "won" were arranged just as you'd see in a bowling alley and their teacher had one bowl to knock as many pins over as they could for their class. Each pin they knocked over was worth 1 bonus point each.
The goal was to introduce students to the Library in a fun, active way that also taught them how they can locate their favourite books and discover new ones!
